SELF Magazine's Annual "Work Out in the Park" Proceeds Will Benefit Legacy |
 |
This spring, women in four major U.S. cities will be able to participate in SELF Magazine's annual outdoor health and fitness festival, "Workout in the Park." Part of the proceeds from the eventcelebrating its 14th anniversary this yearwill be donated to Legacy.
The American Legacy Foundation has a wonderful history with SELF. The publication has been a major supporter of the foundation's mission of creating a tobacco-free generation, and has partnered with us in the promotion of the Circle of Friends® New York Mini10K. A feature story on women from Legacy's Winning Circles program also ran in SELF's November 2006 issue.
SELF's Editor-in-Chief, Lucy Danzinger has also been instrumental in raising the awareness of the health dangers of smoking for many years, and has continuously demonstrated her personal and professional commitment to the cause. Through articles in SELF Magazine, she has helped her readers realize the necessary steps to help them quit smoking successfully, and consistently spreads a smoke-free message throughout SELF's coverage of this issue. For this reason, the American Legacy Foundation recently awarded her the Leadership in Media Award at its annual Honors gala in New York on March 12, 2007.
This year's "Work Out in the Park" will take place in San Diego (4/28), Chicago (5/5), New York City (5/12), and Miami (5/19) and will feature exciting workouts, beauty consultations, nutritional and health advice, and many free giveaways.
If you live in one of these cities and are interested in participating, visit www.selfworkoutinthepark.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
