EX® Launches Nationwide
An unprecedented new public health campaign, funded by an alliance of national organizations and state health agencies, launched on March 31st in Washington, D.C. The program, called EX®, will change the way smokers think about the difficult process of quitting, and guide them to valuable free resources to build a successful quit attempt.

Dr. Koop Goes to Washington
On Monday, March 31, following the EX® launch press conference, Dr. C. Everett Koop, Dr. Cheryl Healton and Washington state Secretary of Health Mary Selecky paid a visit to Capitol Hill to educate lawmakers about the campaign. Drs. Koop and Healton met with a bipartisan group of senior Senate staff from offices that have been leaders on tobacco-related issues.

Foster Named Senior Vice President of Government Relations for the American Legacy Foundation
Stephenie Foster has been appointed senior vice president for government affairs at the American Legacy Foundation. Foster joins the foundation from Georgetown Strategies, where she specialized in advocacy and training both domestically and internationally. Prior to her work at Georgetown Strategies, she served as the vice president for public policy for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where she directed the organization's political and legislative advocacy on reproductive health.
