TobaccoWiki, new site launched

Wikipedia is the Internet user's guide to everything they want to know. From definitions of words to descriptions of organizations and religions, Wikipedia has established itself as a go-to source of information for millions of people. What about tobacco, the tobacco industry and key facts about tobacco and tobacco control? Well look no further! With funding provided by the American Legacy Foundation® there is a new "TobaccoWiki" Web site facilitated by the Center for Media and Democracy, and operated as a portal off of www.sourcewatch.org. The site offers users all kinds of information about tobacco and encourages visitors to contribute their knowledge and information on the subject of tobacco as well.

TobaccoWiki will serve as a clearinghouse for information from tobacco industry documents, encouraging people to start searching the Legacy Tobacco Documents Library and contribute to the body of information gleaned from the documents. By placing their ideas and learnings on the site, users will help develop a central database for tobacco information. This site includes a database of consultants, scientists, employees, witnesses, and others who are involved with tobacco control.

To view the TobaccoWiki, visit www.tobaccowiki.org. For assistance on navigating the site, contact Anne Landman at Anne@sourcewatch.org.
