Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the March 2008 issue of The American Legacy Foundation®'s
E-newsletter. In February, we launched a new and improved Web site at www.americanlegacy.org. The site seeks to make Foundation information more user-friendly and easily accessible. In the coming months, look for our newsletter to boast a new design and look as well.

In addition, we honored several outstanding individuals in tobacco control during the annual American Legacy Honors Awards on March 10 in New York City. On behalf of the Foundation staff and Board of Directors, I would like to personally congratulate the honorees: Dr. Claudia Henschke, Mr. Bill Novelli and Dr. Thomas H. Peterson. All three of these honorees are visionaries in their fields and richly deserve this recognition of their outstanding work.

Finally, at the end of this month, in collaboration with a host of states and public leaders in health, we will launch EX®, a new campaign designed to help guide smokers who want to quit through the difficult process of quitting. Scroll down for more information on all three of these exciting initiatives.

Sincerely,
Healton signature
