If You Have The Passion To Run — We Have Your Ticket

It's not just about the hours of training, or working your way up from three miles to five miles to 10 miles a day, and beyond. It takes more than stamina to run 26.2 miles through all five boroughs of New York City.

And it's not just about determination. Running the New York City Marathon, to be held November 5, 2006, will test your dedication, both physically and mentally.

It is about the passion! The passion to join nearly 40,000 people, and push your body and your mind to its absolute limit. And the passion to run for a cause.

The American Legacy Foundation is proud to be among the New York Road Runners' Charity Partners for the ING New York City Marathon 2006 Charity Program. In recognition of Legacy's sponsorship of the 2004-2006 Circle of Friends® New York Mini 10K races — the world's oldest and most prestigious all-women's road race — NYRR and the ING NYC Marathon have included Legacy in this year's 2006 Charity Program. By participating, Legacy has been granted special guaranteed entries to be awarded to runners wishing to participate in the 2006 ING New York City Marathon and to use this program as a major fundraising initiative.

The program — for runners not granted entry to the marathon by either qualification or the lottery — allows Legacy to provide guaranteed marathon entries in return for a commitment to fundraise $2,500 or more on behalf of the American Legacy Foundation. Contributions will aid in Legacy's life-saving work to keep young people from starting to smoke, to help smokers to learn how to quit, and to protect everyone from second-hand smoke.

Members of Team Legacy will receive a team t-shirt, special gifts, an invitation to the team celebration and more.

It is not too late to register. Visit www.americanlegacy.org for more details.
