Town Hall Meeting |

The American Legacy Foundation hosted its annual town hall meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 24th, coinciding with the National Conference on Tobacco or Health. The morning event, hosted by Dr. Cheryl Healton, involved a panel of Legacy senior staff, who provided updates on current Legacy campaigns as well as a discussion of future plans.
Legacy staff participating in the panel included: Senior Vice President of Marketing Eric Asche, Senior Vice President of Communications Julia Cartwright, Executive Vice President of Program Development Amber Hardy Thornton and Senior Vice President of Research & Evaluation Donna Vallone with Chief Operating Officer Dave Dobbins as the moderator.
Discussing recent activity around the truth® youth smoking prevention campaign was Eric Asche from the marketing team. Amber Hardy Thornton gave a presentation on grants both Small Innovative grants and those targeted to assist Priority Populations, while Donna Vallone provided an overview of on the EX® Program and the recent pilot evaluation results. Julia Cartwright discussed some of the foundation's policy and media relations initiatives including the release of the Institute of Medicine report last spring, ongoing outreach around Camel No. 9 cigarettes, and smoking in the movies.
