New Board Members

Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr.

Wyoming State Senator Charles Scott, R-Casper
The American Legacy Foundation® recently welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors. Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. is a strong proponent for improved healthcare and preserving the environment, and Wyoming State Senator Charles Scott, R-Casper, brings healthcare policy experience and a passion for preventing youth access to tobacco.

As a business executive, Gov. Huntsman served as CEO and chairman of Huntsman Family Holdings, LLC based in Salt Lake City, and was the first president and CEO of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation at the University of Utah. His public service career includes various appointments under the Reagan administration and both the former and current Bush administrations. Under his term as governor, Utah leads the nation in ratio of smoke-free homes.

Senator Scott first served as a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1979 to 1982 before being elected to the state Senate in 1983. His committee work has focused on labor and health and social services, and he has worked on issues that include medical malpractice and welfare reform. He has been a state leader in the healthcare debate, publishing his comprehensive proposals in his 2004 book, Fixing Our Broken Healthcare System.
