Legacy Named as Beneficiary of ING New York City Marathon

On November 5, 2006 Olympic bronze medal-winning marathoner Deena Kastor and seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong will be among thousands of runners competing in the 2006 ING New York City Marathon, the world's largest marathon. The American Legacy Foundation® has been selected to participate as a charity partner in this year's marathon.

The chance to run in the marathon is highly coveted. New York Road Runners selects runners from a pool of 90,000 applicants. Those who are not selected are able to compete for entry via a lottery, in which they must raise at least $2,500 for a NYRR-designated charity such as Legacy. As a charity partner, the foundation will receive funds raised through this lottery.

The American Legacy Foundation® is encouraging individuals and organizations to participate in the marathon and support the foundation in this tremendous fund-raising opportunity.
